AUBUSSON & NEEDLE POINT
Aubusson is located in the heart of France and has a long and proud tradition of making hand-woven carpets and tapestries. The first pieces were made in the 16th century thanks to some Flemish masters who had sought refuge there. Over the centuries the fame of the tapestries and rugs made in Aubusson was so great that even the royal palaces of France were decorated with these fine items.
Modern Aubusson rugs and Needle Point are mainly woven in China and both the techniques and patterns replicate the most famous designs that were woven in the old royal manufactories of Aubusson.
